How it works

Walk the site
We look at access, the work area, the material that needs to move and how you want the site left. Then we set a clear scope for the quote.
Locate services
Underground utilities are located before digging starts. Near marked services, we slow down and expose them carefully so the work can continue safely.
Excavate and haul
We bring a machine that fits the property, excavate to the required depth and move surplus material to the right disposal or recycling facility.
Backfill and grade
Approved fill is placed and compacted where the job calls for it. We finish the grade for the next trade, new surface or landscaping work.
What it costs
What moves the price
Every site is different, so we quote after we've seen it. These are the things that change the number, so you know what we're looking at.
- Machine access, including gates, side yards, overhead lines and surfaces that need protection
- The depth and volume of material that has to be excavated
- Ground conditions, including rock, roots or saturated material
- Haul distance and disposal charges for material leaving the site
- Imported gravel, fill or topsoil, plus the amount of compaction required
- Utilities and tight areas that require careful hand digging
