Our story

A local company built on hard work and doing it right.

Kanigan Construction is Drew Kanigan's company, and it started the hard way.

Drew grew up in Merritt, BC, where he worked as a wildland firefighter for several years during and after high school. He came to Victoria to attend the University of Victoria and earn a civil engineering degree. To pay his way through university Drew built a pressure-washing business and worked every spare hour he had. The goal never changed: start a construction company and build it properly.

Today that's exactly what he's doing. Degree finished and years of experience later, Drew runs Kanigan Construction as a locally owned excavation and site-work company serving Greater Victoria & Southern Vancouver Island.

It's a young, hardworking crew, and the reviews keep saying the same thing: we show up, we communicate, and we don't leave until the job is done right.

How it started

It started with a pressure washer

Kanigan Construction didn't start with excavators. It started with a pressure washer and a small trailer behind Drew's Prius, hustling evenings and weekends to pay his way through school. Every job went back into the next one: a bigger truck, a bigger rig, and eventually the machines to take on excavation and site work. The way we work hasn't changed. Work hard, go above and beyond, get the job done right, and earn the next one.
