How it works

We come and look at it
We walk the site with you, measure up, check what a machine can get to and flag anything that needs testing or a permit before work starts. Then you get a firm number.
Break it out
A hydraulic breaker on the excavator goes through reinforced concrete and rock. Smaller work and tight corners are done by hand so nothing around it gets damaged.
Sort, load and haul
Material is separated as it comes out. Concrete goes one way, metal and wood another, so each load ends up at the right facility instead of all of it going to landfill.
Leave it clean
The site is graded off and swept before we go. Whether the next step is a new slab, a lawn or nothing at all, you get it back tidy rather than as a pile to deal with.
Concrete demolition
We break apart and remove concrete of all kinds: driveways, slabs, sidewalks, footings and foundations. A hydraulic breaker on our excavator handles reinforced concrete and rock with ease. All concrete debris is transported to a recycling depot, where it is broken down and reused in future projects.

Small structure demolition
Sheds, decks, fences, detached garages and other small outbuildings taken down safely and cleared off the property. We protect the surrounding yard and neighbouring structures, then haul everything away and tidy the site.

Walls, decks and the rest
Most of what comes out of a yard is not a driveway or a shed. Old retaining walls that have started to lean, decks gone soft underfoot, fences, playhouses, above-ground pools, planters, and rock sitting where you want something else. We can usually quote the replacement at the same visit, so the wall or the patio that goes back is not a second search for a second contractor. If a job turns up asbestos we stop, arrange the testing and bring in a licensed contractor. Removing it is not something we do.

What it costs
What moves the price
Every site is different, so we quote after we've seen it. These are the things that change the number, so you know what we're looking at.
- How thick the concrete is, and whether there is rebar or wire mesh through it
- How close a machine can get, and what has to be protected on the way in and out
- How much material comes out, since disposal is charged by weight
- Whether anything underneath has to come out too, like old base or buried debris
- Whether hazardous material testing is needed before anything is disturbed
- How you want the site left, rough graded or ready for a new surface

Questions
Demolition questions
Do I need a permit to demolish a shed or garage?
It depends on the municipality and the size of the structure. Detached buildings over a certain footprint usually need one, and anything connected to services will. We will tell you what we think applies during the quote so it can be confirmed before we start.
What happens to everything you haul away?
Concrete goes to a local recycling depot where it is crushed and reused as road base. Metal, wood and clean fill are separated and taken to the right facility for each. Very little of a demolition job actually needs to go to landfill, and sorting it on site is what makes that possible.
What if there is asbestos in it?
We do not remove asbestos. It is regulated work that has to be done by a licensed abatement contractor, and we are not one. What we will do is stop before anything is disturbed, arrange the testing, and line up a licensed contractor to clear it. Once it has been signed off we come back and carry on, so you are only managing one relationship rather than three.
Will the machines wreck my lawn or driveway?
We work with a compact excavator and track loader sized for residential properties, and we plan the route in and out before anything moves. We protect what is staying and clean up behind us. Leaving a tidy site is a point of pride for us.
Can you take out just part of something?
Yes. Cutting a slab back to a line, removing one section of a walkway, taking down half a structure and leaving the rest standing. Partial removals are common and we quote them the same way.
Are disposal fees included in the quote?
Yes. Tipping and disposal are part of the number we give you, not a surprise on the invoice afterwards. If something turns up mid-job that nobody could have known about, we stop and talk to you before carrying on.
