Driveway & Concrete Demolition

Our client was planning to redo his driveway and needed it cleared out first. The job included removing the driveway, the sidewalk around the house, and the concrete steps, plus leveling a few spots in the lawn. We handled the full demolition from start to finish, leaving him a clean slate ready for his new driveway.

A clean slate to start

The plan was to take out the old driveway, the sidewalk around the house and the concrete steps, then tidy up a few spots in the yard. We mapped out the work and got set up to clear it all efficiently.

The right equipment for the job

We brought in our CAT 304C CR mini excavator fitted with a hydraulic breaker attachment, the ideal setup for breaking up concrete efficiently while staying maneuverable around a residential property.

Sidewalk removal and clean disposal

We started with the sidewalk, breaking it into manageable pieces and hauling it to the front of the house. From there we loaded it into our dump trailer and disposed of it at a commercial concrete recycling center, so the old concrete gets reused rather than sent to a landfill.

Driveway and steps

Next we moved to the driveway, breaking it up while carefully working around the areas where it met the house. Every demolition job is a little different, and we adjust our approach to match. We’re equipped to saw cut concrete when a job calls for it, but here the driveway wasn’t part of the same pour as the foundation and had no rebar tying it in, so the sections lifted out cleanly and efficiently. Knowing when to use which method is what keeps a job moving and protects the structures we’re working next to.

We then broke up the concrete steps to complete the demolition.

Going the extra mile

The client was happy with the work and asked if we could level off a couple of areas in his front yard, giving him a flatter, safer space for his kids to play. We took care of that for him and also pulled out a number of small trees while we were on-site.

Done right, and to code

This demolition was completed in accordance with municipal code, with clean disposal, careful work around the home, and a tidy finish. Whether it’s a driveway, sidewalk, steps, or some grading on the side, we’ve got the equipment and the know-how to take it on.
