Demo day, step by step
Most residential driveways and pathways are out in a day or two.
Break or strip
Our CAT 304C CR breaks concrete into liftable sections and strips asphalt cleanly. We saw cut where needed to protect adjoining structures and surfaces.
Lift and load
A compact excavator sized for residential lots lifts the old surface out. Before work starts, we plan the access route and how we will protect the areas that stay.
Haul it away
Concrete goes to a local recycler, while asphalt and other materials go to the appropriate facility. Haul-away and disposal are included in your quote.
Clean slate
We remove loose debris and leave a tidy, graded work area ready for base repairs, drainage or the next surface. Already have an installer? We coordinate the handoff.

This homeowner needed the old concrete cleared before a new driveway went in. We broke out the driveway, the pathway around the house and the front steps, hauled the concrete for recycling, then levelled two areas of the yard while our equipment was already there.
Drew Kanigan, our owner and a UVic civil-engineering graduate, plans the work and is on site with our own equipment. You deal with the person responsible for the result.

Driveway removal questions
What does driveway removal cost in Victoria?
It depends on the size of the driveway, how thick the concrete is, whether there is rebar, and how easy it is to get a machine in. Rather than guess, we come look at it and give you a free, firm quote with disposal included. No surprises on the invoice.
How long does it take?
Most residential driveways are broken out, loaded and hauled away in a day or two. Bigger driveways or tight access can add time, and we will tell you upfront if yours will.
Do you remove pathways, patios and steps too?
Yes. Driveways, walkways, patios, concrete steps and old slabs are all the same kind of work for our equipment. Many jobs combine a few of them, and we quote it all as one project with every piece of debris hauled away.
What happens to the old concrete?
We take old concrete to a local recycling depot, where it is crushed for reuse as road base. We separate other materials and take them to the appropriate facility. Haul-away and disposal are included in your quote.
Do I need a permit to remove a driveway?
It depends on the municipality and the scope. Moving or widening the driveway, changing the connection to the street, or altering drainage can trigger approvals. We will flag the likely requirements during the quote so they can be confirmed before work starts.
Can you remove and replace my driveway?
Yes. We can manage the complete job: demolition, haul-away, excavation, base preparation and drainage, followed by a concrete, asphalt, paver or gravel surface. We coordinate trusted trade partners for the finished surface and keep the work under one quote and schedule.
Can you do just the removal if I already have an installer?
Yes. If you have a paving or concrete company lined up, we do the demolition and leave them a clean, graded base to work from. We are happy to coordinate timing with them directly.
Will the machines wreck my lawn?
We work with a compact excavator that is sized for residential properties and plan the route in and out before we start. We protect what stays and clean up after ourselves. Leaving a tidy site is a point of pride for us.
How soon can you start?
